The Becca Award

The Becca Award — named for its inaugural recipient, Becca Laufenberg — recognizes a truly exceptional woman. She embodies everything our league stands for: not only our key values of good sportsmanship and camaraderie, but sharing a love of tennis with others, being kind and generous, and playing hard while having fun.

Becca dedicated a decade of her life to this league. She saved BALL (the former Bay Area Ladies League) from almost certain demise, then worked tirelessly to help merge this organization with the Contra Costa Spring League, forming what is now EBWT.

Becca was able to accomplish this and more because she's a smart, positive, can-do woman, and treats everyone she encounters with kindness and respect. And she’s also one heck of a tennis player!

As Becca steps down after 10 years as a board member for BALL and EBWT, we want to honor her service and impact with this award.
